Sports, Games & Leisure Activities Google Doc

We would like you to create an informative magazine about an activity that you enjoy participating in. Include articles, stories and illustrations that help the reader of your magazine to gain a better understanding of your chosen activity.

You must answer the following questions as part of the articles and stories you write for your magazine:

  1. What is the name of your chosen activity and how did it get its name?
  2. What is the objective of your chosen activity and how do you participate?
  3. When and where did your chosen activity originate and how has it changed over time?
  4. Who is well-known for participating in your chosen activity?
  5. Why do you enjoy participating in your chosen activity?

Organising your ideas:

You will be using the ‘note taking’ and ‘note making’ planners to organise your thoughts and ideas, before publishing them as articles and stories in Comic Life and Google Docs.

‘Note taking’ is when you write, type, or copy and paste ideas that have been written or spoken by someone else. These ideas must relate to your chosen activity and help you to answer one of the questions.

Showing the ‘Source’ of the information you have found is an important part of researching your chosen activity. You need to show where you found the ideas that you recorded on your ‘note taking’ planners.

‘Note making’ is when you write sentences, using your own words, that are based on the facts you found in your ‘note taking’, that will then be used to write articles and stories, and to create illustrations about your chosen activity.
